KSC Conference 2011

CamSA is planning on having a weekly Tuesday study jam starting next week on Oct 11th at Shield Library around 8-11pm. If you’re one of those people who need to be surrounded by studious people in order to study, feel free to come by. We’re most likely be located on the 4th floor. It’s that time of the year for the Cambodian community to reunite again or anyone interested of Cambodian culture to come by for our first general meeting of fall quarter. Come and see what CamSA has plan out for you guys for this quarter and the 2011-12 school year. FREE FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED!!!!!!!! I hope to see you guys make it to this event!!!!

…Hello Cambodian/Cambodian American people and Community Members,

How is everyone feeling?!?! We, the Berkeley Cambodian Student Association (BCSA), hope that all of you are feeling great and that you are also excited about this year’s Khmer Student Coalition Conference (KSCC) 2010 Whhhhooooohoooo!!! Because we are hella excited to host all of you and welcome all of you to join us in this historical event, the first ever KSCC in Northern, CA!!! At the University of California, Berkeley to be specific.

So what is KSCC?

* KSCC is part of the Khmer Student Coalition (KSC)
* KSC is a Cambodian student network system amongst universities, state colleges, and community colleges within California. We aim to unify the Cambodian Community in California by developing a comfortable and stable support system amongst student run Cambodian organizations. One of the events we hold is KSCC.
* KSCC is an annual event that is going to take place in November 5th-7th, 2010 this year. Traditionally, KSCC has been a one day event, but this year, it is going to be THREE DAYS. Yes, three days of Cambodian/Cambodian American fun, uh huh At KSCC, the KSC family gets together and dialogue about the Cambodian identity, culture, and the issues within our community. This dialogue comes in the form of workshops, guest speakers, and panelists and attendees of the conference support each other through the sharing of ideas and advice (while also having lots and lots of FUN!!!).

**The theme for KSCC last year was identity and this year, we are still in the long and hard process of figuring out this year’s theme, but we hope that you can continue the process of finding your identity with us at KSCC 2010, so we can better understand how we together can take our personal skills to help out our community: the Cambodian/Cambodian American community.**

It’s that time of the year again for the Khmer Unity Games. A chance for young Cambodians to enjoy a day in the Summer through various activities. Students from college campuses coming from Norcal stretching down to Socal and touching down in the No-Town. This is an opportunity to promote unity amongst our own and as well as other races.

The Khmer Unity Games will be hosted in Fresno, California by Fresno State’s Cambodian Collegiate Association ( CCA ) on June 26th, 2010.
Please be at Game Grounds by 8’30am to sign in.

-Registration will be open till Midnight of June 12th. If you miss the registration deadline there will be a $5.00 fee to register.

**Any Non-KSC member will be charged a $3.00 fee to participate in the games.

K.U.G. T-Shirts will be for sale thru the registration process, just be sure to bring your money ( $15 ) to pick up the shirt when you sign in on Game Day.
K.U.G. DVDs are also for sale. This DVD will consist of interviews of students from different schools about what they think of the Games and also videos of you student’s playing the games.

To members that require housing :
-Please bring your own soap, toothpaste, towel, blanket, pillow, etc.
-Also cash for breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be provided on June 26th thru K.U.G.

Some Information About Game Day :

-It will be hot.

-Bring some clothes to change because there’s a possibility that you will get wet.

-Bring your own asian mats (Ka-thail) if you would like

-Dress comfortably. Wear clothing that you
can easily move in.

-Tennis shoes ARE Required. Sandals can be
brought but some games will require tennis
shoes to be worn.

-Use electronic devices to your own discretion. Losses/damages will be your responsibility and will not be covered by CCA.
